Road Trip!

Last week we took a little road trip to New Orleans. It's all about the food. And the history. And the food. And the landscape. And the food.

We got an early start and after a tasty breakfast at Cafe Des Amis in Breaux Bridge we took a swamp tour.
That evening we had dinner at Emeril's.  Fantastic food and great service. This is their signature banana cream pie-not to be missed.

After breakfast at Brennan's we did a little sight seeing. An old cemetery, some shopping, and the Chalmette battlefield where  the battle of New Orleans was fought. I've been singing that song ( you know, " We fired our guns and the British kept a coming...") since I was little, so it was nice to see where it actually took place.
Another  wonderful dinner at "Cochon" topped off by a stop here:
You just can't go to New Orleans without visiting Cafe Du Monde! Cafe au lait and beingets  loaded with powdered sugar--YUM!

So the next morning we packed a Muffaletta in our cooler and headed home!
It was good to get home, we had a wonderful time and the sandwich tasted great! We really should do this more often!
