Meet Baa-b!

I've been gone awhile, and not by design. I guess it's what is referred to as the dog days of summer--just not too much going on. It's hot and I'm tired of being hot--though we  can't complain too much, this has been a much better summer than last year. I'm working on several projects, so none of them are getting finished quickly. I've got a shawl I want to take on  vacation (it will probably be too hot to wear it), a pretty periwinkle scarf with drop stitch fringe, two wool runners, a Halloween quilt and Baa-b's next blanket. But when I do finish up, I will have some pretty good show and tell!

Say "Hi" to Baa-b! (my one FO). I've always wanted to make this Buttermilk Basin sheep with the monthly penny blankets, so when she re-released the pattern in one packet I ordered it. Of course blanket # 2 isn't finished yet, and we are already into September, but it will be done and on his back before long!
I think he looks really cute on my blue auction stool.

We had some company over the Labor Day weekend, so quite a bit of time has been spent getting the upstairs looking presentable. I've accumulated way too much stuff so there have been two trips to Goodwill and one to sell books we have finished reading. There is still more, but I do feel I've made a start and I've even begun some reorganization of my sewing room--now that's an undertaking! Getting all the little piles up off the floor and shelves at least looking neat, even though they are full of stuff! It's pretty much my own little craft store. Need buttons--I've got thousands. Need snowman noses--what size would you like?

While our house guest was here, we went to brunch at Hubble & Hudson. Unfortunately I neglected to take pictures of the food, but it was really good and our dessert was SO fun! It was a selection of 6 small scoops of gelato and three tasty sauces, caramel, chocolate and creme brule. Good choice and worth a repeat sometime soon!

And since we were so close, we popped in to Trader Joe's where I found yet another yummy item--
it's the salt that makes them so good, but the container is a bit small, so next time I will buy 2!

I won't forget to take pictures while we are on vacation, and as soon as we get back I  figure it will be time to put out the fall decorations, so my next post should have more eye candy (not just candy, candy, but then candy is very important to me)!

Take it easy!

  1. Don't you just love making the little sheep blankets? They are so darn cute and go really quickly.

    1. Quick is good. And next year all I will have to do is change them each month!
